Curious Candy: Cynthia Rowley New York

Curios Candy by Cynthia Rowley

Dear Food Diary:
A few afternoon’s ago, while sipping cappuccino at Lady M, mysterious looking branches and giant red blossoms peaked through the window. At first I thought it was an outdoor art exhibit. But, to my surprise, this was the storybook like hidden alleyway to Cynthia Rowley’s new Upper East Side clothing shop…

… and stairs to her version of a dark and dreamy Willy Wonka fantasy. Curious Candy is geared towards kids and those at heart with an active imagination and chic style. Of course, having lot of green doesn’t hurt either since this stuff ain’t cheap.

BANKAKU: Finding Japanese Shrimp Crackers in Singapore

BANKAKU - shrimp cracker from japan

Dear Food Diary:
While taking a delicious stroll at Takashimaya Singapore‘s basement food court (food heaven) these cute set of Japanese shrimp crackers caught my eye. Who could resist the sushi like display of crackers!?  I just had to bring home a box. Yaraku – pack of “eight happiness”. They make me smile every time I open a pack.

Hello Fresh: Recipes & Ingredients delivered to your door

hello fresh 2

Dear Food Diary:
The folks at Hello Fresh recently sent over a complimentary box of recipes and ingredients for me to try. The delivery came with everything I needed for each recipe. No measuring involved, which was great for a freestyle cook like myself. I tried 3 recipes during the week (Thai curry chicken, chicken quinoa salad and salmon), by the 4th day, I went home wishing for more.

end of summer farmers market

Dear Food Diary:
I’m holding onto summer the only way I know – eating. Not much time left before all these beautiful fruits and vegetables say their goodbyes.
