ROSSOPOMODORO: Southern Italian “chain” lands NYC (sorta)

ROSSOPOMODORO - agnolotti

Dear Food Diary:
If you thought Rossopomodoro was just a part of Eataly, you are not alone. It wasn’t until their opening (first stand alone restaurant in America) 2 weeks ago that I learned how big the “chain” actually is. The family restaurant’s headquarter resides Napoli, but they’ve brought their Southern Italian flavors far and wide. From Europe to Middle East, Asia and Africa!

Corkbuzz Winebar Chelsea Market: Champagne, wine & good eats

Corkbuzz - tasting

Dear Food Diary:
A few weeks ago, on a rainy Saturday, I was invited to a tasting at the new Corkbuzz Winebar Chelsea Market.

Our group of foodaholic ladies sampled European inspired small plates by Chef Missy Robbins, paired with champagne and wine by Master Sommelier Laura Maniec. What a treat…

BAR PRIMI: Dreamy Fiori di Carfiosi (flower of artichoke pasta)

BAR PRIMI - fiore di carfiosi

Dear Food Diary:
I’ve been dreaming about that Fiori di Carfiosi from Bar Primi for a few weeks now… that perfect balance of al dente pasta and bacon. Another discovery was Follow Frog Farm peaches. Where have they been all my life?

ISOLA Mondrian Soho: Beautiful lunch on our special day

Isola - entrance - Mondrian Soho
The only photos StalkerBoy (now StalkerHubby) will let me post of him. Our cousin Y art directed the shot.

Dear Food Diary:
March 28th was our 3rd anniversary and the day we decided to make it legal. We’ve been planning our wedding ever since the proposal. And though the real celebration won’t be until June, StalkerBoy and I decided to do City Hall first.

Afterwards, he picked this beautiful lunch spot – Isola Mondrian Soho to toast the start of our special day. One of the prettiest outdoor dining rooms I’ve seen, even on a rainy day, it looked gorgeous. The entrance was perfect for the capturing special day.

The food was good too.
