SEOUL CHICKEN: Asian and Southern style fried chicken

seoul chicken - fried chicken wings and tea

Dear Food Diary:

If double fried, korean style chicken wings bathing in Asian flavors tickle your appetite, this is the place for you.

Don’t be fooled by the name. Seoul Chicken is a mixture of Asian influences with Chef Chaz Brown’s Southern background.

UMAMI BURGER: Ohhh yes! Truffle Burger

Dear Food Diary:
Some bites are able to leave a lasting and tasty memory. Umami Burger did just that with their Truffle Burger at the last Googa Mooga. Since then, I’ve become a follower, addict, fan  – whatever you want to call it.

Ohhh yes! that Truffle Burger.

FEAST: Lovely $24 Brunch Deal

Dear Food Diary:
Not so long ago, meeting the girls was a weekly occurrence. But now that we’re all grown up, changed our marital status and zip code, meeting up is a special occasion.

Fatta Cuckoo: Fried chicken with a sweet touch

Dear Food Diary:
I’ve never met anyone who didn’t absolutely love fried chicken. Yes, there are a few health nuts who takes the skin off and swear by the evidence of flavor even so (whatever *rolling eyes*). Anyways…

When Gilt City had a deal for Fatta Cuckoo’s fried chicken dinner for 4 ($80), I rung up my ChubbyChicas immediately. But shortly after, I was off to Japan and missed my finger lickin’ date.

My friend J reported “best fried chicken I’ve ever had”.

JACOB’S PICKLE: Total calorie splurge. Well worth it.

Dear Food Diary:
After running a 5k charity run, the girls and I splurged our hard earned calories at Jacob’s Pickle. And boy, ohhh boy, it was deliciously spent.

Chill vibe, rustic setting, great food and prices on the Upper West Side. Comfort food at its best plus a variety of pickles.

I can’t wait to go back.
